PHOTOS: Mary Blair’s mural is installed, artwork is moved to the new lobby at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is still undergoing a lengthy renovation, but the end is near as the canvas has recently been removed from its exterior, the curtains are being put away and works of art are now installed. in the main entrances.

Upon entering the complex from the main entrance where the original lobby is located, a new mural can be seen around the pillar behind the walls.

It is only partially lit, it seems, as a large ceiling slab and a light fixture are missing at the top right.

Further down, you can see another column shining brightly just beyond the first one.

A Mary Blair-style rooster can be seen, reminiscent of some birds seen in the Grand Canyon Concourse mural, and even the one on “It’s a Small World”.

To the right of the main entrance where Contemporary Grounds is located, a few new work frames have also been placed along with something other than coffee mugs.

At the end of the long hallway that was previously covered with a long black curtain, more framed artwork can be found on the renovated wall.

These appear to be works of art reused around the hotel, not moved to the place. We specifically recognize the Andy Warhol pieces from our stay in the Presidential Suite last year.

More modern and contemporary pieces in simplistic settings line a part of the hallway which is complete.

The newly completed wall is freshly painted and awaits further artwork.

Lower down, the black curtain still remains on a part of the corridor still under construction or being painted near the new lightings recently installed.
