Murraylands, 17-year-old author, releases her first book | The Murray Valley Standard
She’s a 17-year-old Murraylands author who just released her new book and the first print run is now sold out.
Jasmine Knight from the small town of Buccleuch on the Mallee Highway lives on the family farm and is inspired by her surroundings.
On Sunday October 31, 2021 at the Coomandook Spring Fair Knight held its official book launch and signing for Lady of ice and snow.
Taking advantage of the experience, Knight said the last copies of the first print sold out on the same day.
“It went really well,” Ms. Knight said.
“We started with 18 books there and by the end of the day they were all sold out.
“Lady of ice and snow is a fantasy novel with a lot of adventure and friendship. “
From a young age, Knight has always written and told stories. It was a great way to gain confidence in your writing and create a book at such a young age.
“Part of my inspiration for writing comes from movies and other books I’ve read,” Ms. Knight said.
“But, most of the time, it all comes from a place of imagination. I’ve always written short stories since I was young.
“I’ve always loved telling stories and knew I wanted to publish a book from a young age.”
The second print strand of Lady of ice and snow is aiming for a release at the end of the year. Right now, it’s okay for Knight to think about the accomplishment.
“It’s great to know that people want a copy of Lady of Ice & Snow,” Ms. Knight said.
“It’s really exciting and it’s a good feeling that people are buying the books and reading my story.”
