Milo Ventimiglia wants to “inspire guys with a heart of gold” | Lifestyles
Milo Ventimiglia hopes his “This Is Us” character will inspire guys with a “heart of gold.”
The 44-year-old actor stars as Jack Pearson in the drama TV series, and Milo hopes his character can inspire other men to be the best versions of themselves.
Milo – who joined the show in 2016 – said: “Jack has some tough shoes to fill, even for a guy like me who plays him, because I think where you say people put him on a pedestal, this kind of transference movement for me, and I’m like, “Wait, wait, wait, wait. I’m just a guy playing a character, trying his best to make it real and make it inspiring for people.”
“But at the same time, I think it’s wonderful to know that there’s a fictional character like Jack, who hopefully will inspire the real guys who have those hearts of gold to send some good into people’s lives. people around them.”
Milo confessed that there were big differences between his real self and his on-screen persona.
He told ‘The Awardist’ podcast: “There were times when I disagreed with his actions personally. I would have handled things differently. But I’m sure there are things – if he was real and looking at my life – he would wonder why I made this decision.”
Milo believes that Jack’s flaws actually make him more “relatable” to viewers.
The actor – who stars in the show alongside Mandy Moore – said: “I think in these complexities and complications of life, [they] make it very human and make it very relatable.
“I think if it were too real, too perfect, it would be unrealistic. It would be unreachable.”
