Maune Contemporary of Santa Barbara presents the best contemporary artists

When Heidi and Ramsey Maune decided to expand their gallery in Atlanta’s Miami Circle Design District to Buckhead, they knew they wanted to be somewhere just as special – a truly cosmopolitan destination for art. The space that is now Maune Contemporary at 1309 State Street fits the bill perfectly. Elegantly finished with a wrought iron gate surrounding a small paseo-style entrance, this is one of the most distinctive buildings in Santa Barbara’s Arts District. The show currently playing is called Truth or Friction? by Justin Lyons, a Florida street-savvy painter whose brightly colored canvases are reminiscent of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Barry McGee. The hours are Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
