Get your hands on a rural romance novel | Campbelltown-Macarthur Advertiser
“The man of numbers meets the woman who prefers dogs to decimal points and parrots to percentages.”
That’s how author Lily Malone describes her new rural romance novel, The Vet’s Country Vacation.
To celebrate the release of the new novel, ACM has seven copies to give away to lucky readers, thanks to our good friends at HarperCollins.
Town veterinarian Isabella Passmore takes the opportunity to herd animals in the countryside and enjoy the fresh air. But it only takes her a few days to get bored – so she picks up another gig working at a thrift store.
It’s there that she meets accountant Elliot Field, who’s back in town to work his financial magic and help his parents save their failing business.
For Izzy, chasing Elliot is a welcome diversion from walking around another city tour with the dog. For Elliot, their random encounters represent the sum of much bigger things.
Malone says his inspiration was his great friends and their pets and their children.
“Just listening to the stories that people tell me, I often respond, ‘It goes right into the book,'” she said.
