2022 Juno Awards Opening Night

The 2022 JUNO Awards ceremony takes place tonight, but most of this year’s awards were handed out last night (May 14) during the Opening Night Awards. Over 40 awards were handed out, with big winners like The Weeknd, Charlotte Cardin, Kaytranada, Mustafa and many more.
The event took place last night at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The big winner of the evening was Charlotte Cardin, with three prizes: Pop album of the year (Phoenix), Single of the Year (“Meaningless”) and Artist of the Year. The Weeknd won two: Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year (“Take My Breath”) and Songwriter of the Year.
DJ Shub, MONOWHALES, Savannah Ré, Half Moon Run, Serena Ryder, Coeur de pirate, Allison Russell, the Beaches, WondaGurl, Colin James and more complete the list of winners. Olivia Rodrigo won International Album of the Year for SOUR.

Performers at the event included Roxane Bruneau, Ruby Waters, Valley, Allison Russell and Jesse Gold. It was hosted by Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe and Ann Pornel.
The JUNO Awards ceremony takes place tonight at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.
